CAMERON HOPMAN

     Cameron is originally from the Chicagoland area, but now resides in Madison, Wisconsin and is employed as the Chief Meteorologist at WKOW-TV. He was raised in Tinley Park, Illinois and in 2006 began attending Eastern Illinois University.
     After originally enrolling as a Secondary Education Major, he elected to switch his major in early 2008 and started registering for as many Meteorology and Climatology courses as he could. His work as a part of the Eastern Illinois University Weather Center led to his volunteering at Eastern Illinois University's award-winning student run newscast WEIU-TV's News Watch.
     During the following two years, Cameron worked both in front of and behind the camera gaining experience in every facet of the newscast. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in December of 2010 with a Bachelor of Science; he minored in Broadcast Meteorology.
     Cameron received his National Weather Association Broadcaster's Seal of Approval in July of 2015. He accepted the position of Chief Meteorologist at WKOW-TV in January of 2024.
